Industrial / Chemical Grade Gypsum is a high-purity calcium sulfate material—primarily CaSO₄·2H₂O (gypsum), and in some cases hemihydrate or anhydrite—used as a chemical feedstock, functional additive, or process material. It is selected for chemical purity, controlled reactivity, and consistency, not for structural strength, decorative appearance, or bulk soil use.

Strengthening & Metallurgical Behavior

Strengthening behavior:
Industrial gypsum is not used for mechanical strengthening. Its role is chemical and functional, acting as:

Metallurgical behavior:
🚫 Generally avoided in metallurgy. Sulfur content is undesirable in steel and alloy production. Only very limited non-ferrous niche uses exist.
