Martensitic Stainless Steel is a high-strength, heat-treatable family of stainless steels containing approximately 12–18% chromium and low-to-medium carbon content. It is engineered to form a martensitic microstructure when rapidly cooled from elevated temperatures, resulting in exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and mechanical strength.
These steels are magnetic and can be hardened by quenching and tempering, making them ideal for applications where high strength, edge retention, and moderate corrosion resistance are required.
